Port en Bessin Huppain is a trading port whose ancient origin dates back to the Gallo-Roman period. For centuries, maritime and merchant exchanges have shaped the city by bringing it wealth and dynamism. Today only the fishing activity and more particularly the scallop shell in the Bay of Seine with a red label is preserved but regulated to respect the renewal of the resource. Port en Bessin occupies the 9th place of the French fishing ports.
